FASCA San Diego Chapter Showcases Taiwanese Culture at Design39 Campus Cultural Festival FASCA聖地牙哥校園文化節 展現台灣文化魅力

On October 20, 2024, the Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors San Diego Chapter (FASCA-SD) participated in the Cultural Festival at Design39 Campus Middle School, bringing a taste of Taiwanese culture to the local community. The event was a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, and FASCA-SD played a key role in promoting Taiwan's rich heritage.
At the booth, visitors were treated to famous Taiwanese snacks and boba tea, which quickly became popular among attendees. Alongside these culinary delights, FASCA-SD set up engaging activities that showcased traditional Taiwanese childhood toys. Students and visitors enjoyed playing with the diabolo and shuttlecock, as well as trying their skills at the marble pinball game, another nostalgic favorite from Taiwan.
Reflecting on the event, the consulting mentor Marian Liu shared: "This festival was a wonderful opportunity for our Student Cultural Ambassadors to actively practice cultural exchange. By offering hands-on experiences like the diabolo and marble pinball games, we helped the local community connect with Taiwanese traditions in a fun and meaningful way. It’s rewarding to see how engaged the students were, both in learning about our culture and sharing it with others."
FASCA-SD remains committed to its mission of cultural diplomacy, aiming to strengthen ties between Taiwanese and American communities by promoting Taiwan's vibrant traditions through leadership and service. Through these interactive and playful activities, FASCA-SD was able to create an environment of learning and cultural sharing, embodying their core values of leadership and service. The event left a lasting impression, sparking curiosity and appreciation for Taiwanese culture among many participants.
(記者林蓮華報導)FASCA-SD海外青年文化大使協會聖地牙哥分會受邀參加2024年10月20日(周日)當地校園舉辦開放給社區的「Design39 Campus中學文化節」活動，FASCA-SD學員展示臺灣多項童玩，並提供來賓有趣的體驗。就讀中學的臺灣家長在設置的攤位上，也提供各式臺灣著名小點心及波霸奶茶，馬上吸引參觀者大排長龍品嚐，全程展現臺灣豐富且亮麗的文化，彼此通力合作，完成擔任文化使者任務，展現臺灣文化魅力，成為該文化節的亮點。
據學生家長介紹，Design39 Campus是K-8中學，位於聖地牙哥波威聯合學區(Poway Unified School District）優質的新型學校，試圖透過創造一個設計思考環境來改變學校教育的方式，校內提供各種學習者的空間，像是這次舉辦的文化節，這個活動宗旨是多元文化的慶典，就是要讓學生充份展現創意的學習方式，促進學生認識自己成長的背景環境，及接觸不同的世界文化。
在由臺灣家長設置的攤位上，家長們很開心能用在美國最著名的台灣美食波霸奶茶介紹台灣，還有FASCA-SD帶來有趣的台式童玩，吸引許多小朋友和家長來攤位參觀。來訪者品嚐了各式臺灣著名小點心及波霸奶茶，這些美味飲食迅速吸引了眾多參加者的關注。參觀的大人及小孩，也紛紛踴躍體驗扯鈴、踢毽子，以及充滿童年回憶的彈珠檯遊戲，經由親身體驗更加瞭解臺灣童玩的箇中樂趣。
諮詢導師柳靜娟表示，FASCA青年文化大使原本就是要肩負文化外交的使命，透過領導力與服務來宣揚臺灣豐富的傳統與文化，進而加強臺美社區之間的聯繫與交流。這次參加文化節，為FASCA-SD青年文化大使們提供實踐文化交流的絕佳機會，透過像扯鈴、踢毽子、彈珠檯這些親身體驗活動，提供當地社區民眾，以一種有趣且有意義的方式，來接觸臺灣的文化。看到青年文化大使們不僅學習臺灣的文化，還能積極與他人分享，同時讓參與者也留下深刻印象，激發參與者對臺灣文化的欣賞與嚮往，非常令人欣喜。
